Compressor Dictionary – A

Automatic Condensate Drain

Condensate can be drained either manually or automatically. The automatic condensate drain allows autonomous operation; the compressor no longer requires constant supervision.

An electro-pneumatic device controls the draining intervals for the intermediate and final separators.

Standard setting: automatic drainage every 15 minutes for 6 seconds
These draining intervals and periods can be adjusted to meet the user's specific requirements using the COMP-TRONIC display unit.

If the unit is switched off, the separators are drained automatically. A depressurised, load-free unit can be restarted easily.

For larger compressor units, BAUER KOMPRESSOREN recommends the automatic condensate drain. It safeguards trouble-free operation and long filter lifetimes. Draining the unit manually and in regular intervals is often inconvenient and time consuming. Also, the procedure is easily forgotten, which risks severe damage to the compressor.

The automatic condensate drain is a prerequisite whenever the unit operates continuously and without constant supervision.
