Centripetal Clutch
The centripetal clutch permits starting the compressor with zero load. Once a certain speed of revolution is reached, the clutch automatically connects compressor and motor.
BAUER employs this type of clutch for directly-flanged units.
Advantages:
- For electric units, the centripetal clutch reduces the engine's power consumption during start-up.
- For gasoline units, the load during start-up is minimised.
